The law as per Article 31 (2) gives the right to the prospective lessors and lessees to submit a request to verify whether the other party/ies of the intended lease agreement had been added to the Defaulter Register or not.
Upon making the request a draft copy of the lease agreement is to be given as proof.
Requests are to be submitted from an account created from our homepage www.rentregistration.gov.mt.

Persons who have been awarded a decision in their favour can now request personal data of any individaul to safeguard their interest. The law now gives the opportunity to these individuals who have had a favourable decision issued by the Law Courts or the Panel (Arbitration Panel, Rent Regulation Board and/or the Court of Appeal-Inferior Jurisdiction) to request personal data of the defaulter. Subject that the private lease agreements had been duly registered with the Housing Authority.
The Housing Authority will determine whether to accept the request for personal data. The data communicated will be limited to the current residential address of active registrations of that person against whom such decision would have been taken.
