Arbitration Panel – Miscellaneous Services

As a registered user you need to login into your account. If you are a non-registered user please follow the step by step guide.

1. To search for decisions issued by the Adjudicating Panel of the Housing Authority please follow the instructions
2. Go to Registry of Panel Decisions
3. Click on Open Search Form button
4. You have three options on how to search for finalised decisions:
   1. By Date search
   2. By Reference search
   3. By Parties (name) search
5. Once chosen which search type you want, click on the Search button
6. If you want to see the decision of the Adjudicating Panel on a particular dispute, click on the pdf file next to the dispute

The law as per Article 31 (2) gives the right to the prospective lessors and lessees to submit a request to verify whether the other party/ies of the intended lease agreement had been added to the Defaulter Register or not.
Upon making the request a draft copy of the lease agreement is to be given as proof.
Requests are to be submitted from an account created from our homepage www.rentregistration.gov.mt.

How you register an account:

1. If you are not a registered user you need to create an account.
2. Click Create Account from the homepage www.rentregistration.gov.mt
3. Enter your E-mail address and Create a Password. Confirm password.
4. Click Create Account
5. You will receive an e-mail on the e-mail address you provided to Verify Email Address
6. From the e-mail you receive click on Verify Email Address
7. You will be re-directed to the My Profile page
8. First you need to select the profile type:

How to file a Defaulter Information Request:
As a registered user you need to login into your account.

1. Go to Defaulter Information menu
2. Start to fill in the form
3. All fields of the form are mandatory
4. Once the form is filled, please press the Submit button
5. You will receive an email notification that the form has been received
6. In this email you will be given a unique reference number related to your form

Brief:
The law as per Article 31 gives the right to lessors or lessees to submit a request to add the defaulter to the Defaulter Register.
The Arbitration Panel will determine whether to accept the request to add an individual/s to the Defaulter Register.
The requests are made through the dispute that was opened with the Arbitration Panel.

As a registered user you need to login into your account.

1. Go to Dispute Resolution
2. Choose the menu My Disputes
3. Choose the dispute related to your request and press the View button
4. In the Dispute details screen press the button Request to Add Defaulter to Register
5. All fields of the form are mandatory
6. Once the form is filled, please press the Submit button
7. You will receive an email notification that the form has been received

Brief:

The Arbitration Panel will determine whether to accept the request to remove an individual/s to the Defaulter Register.
The requests are made through the dispute that was opened with the Arbitration Panel.

As a registered user you need to login into your account.

1. Go to Dispute Resolution
2. Choose the menu My Disputes
3. Choose the dispute related to your request and press the View button
4. In the Dispute details screen press the button Request to Remove a Defaulter from Register
5. All fields of the form are mandatory
6. Once the form is filled, please press the Submit button
7. You will receive an email notification that the form has been received

Persons who have been awarded a decision in their favour can now request personal data of any individaul to safeguard their interest. The law now gives the opportunity to these individuals who have had a favourable decision issued by the Law Courts or the Panel (Arbitration Panel, Rent Regulation Board and/or the Court of Appeal-Inferior Jurisdiction) to request personal data of the defaulter. Subject that the private lease agreements had been duly registered with the Housing Authority.

The Housing Authority will determine whether to accept the request for personal data. The data communicated will be limited to the current residential address of active registrations of that person against whom such decision would have been taken.

You can send your request for information by email at the following address: [email protected] . In the same email include the details of the defaulter (name, surname and identification and/or passport number). Also attach the following documentation :

1. The decision issued by the Arbitration Panel or the Rent Regulation Board or The Court of Appeal (inferior Jurisdiction).
2. Copy of an identification document of the requesting party.
3. The reference number of the registration of the private residential lease agreement.
